NPR asks, “Can 3D printers reshape the world?”

NPR’s Science Friday’s host Ira Flatow this week interviewed three important people in the 3D printing world. He welcomed guests Bre Pettis, CEO and co-founder o Makerbot Industries, Terry Wohlers, president of Wohlers Associates, and Hod Lipson, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Cornell University. Makerbot, of course, makes the popular personal 3D printer Replicator and Thing-O-Matic, and runs the site Thingiverse. Wohlers Associates is a consulting firm that tracks the 3D printing industry. Lipson co-authored the upcoming book “Fabricated: The New World of 3D Printing” and co-founded the [email protected] project to develop low-cost 3D printers.

The interview on this popular show runs just over 23 minutes, and weel worth your time.
