Future of Shopping in a 3D printed world:
Shapeways CEO Peter Weijmarshausen video interview

Online 3D printing service Shapeways is getting a lot of attention these days. Way back last June they printed their one millionth model and raised $6.2 million funding, later in the year built their 25,000 sf “Factory of the Future,” and all along the way has received press in publication after publication — technology, business and mainstream media alike. The latest coverage is by Reason magazine, where Nick Gillespie interviews Shapeways CEO Peter Weijmarshausen about Shapeways and the future of shopping in our new 3D printable world.

Quoting Weijmarshausen from the interview, “What we want…is not to be about 3D printing, but to be about empowering people to get what they want,” said Peter Weijmarshausen, CEO of the New York based 3D printing company Shapeways. “We enable people to be involved in the products, and I think they like that.”

The video is just six minutes.
