3D printing is quickly growing in popularity, thanks to the fact that it allows you to customize and create just about anything, on demand. While it is possible to print unique items from more and more materials – there is one thing lacking: powerful and easy-to-use design tools.

With the latest app, Jweel, from the startup company Skimlab, it’s is now possible for pretty much anyone to create their very own customizable 3D printed jewelry.

The Skimlab company has developed a browser-based software which enables virtually anyone to create their own one-of-a kind rings. You can also choose the material in which you want the ring to be printed: gold, silver, steel, or titanium.

Since the tools are browser based, there is no downloading or installations required, and designs can be completed instantly.

The “Text Ring” tool enables the users to turn any text into a ring. You can change any word, names, dates, etc. into a customized and personalized ring. The tool makes it simple, just enter the text, choose a font, and view the text ring – instantly.

If the Text Ring isn’t for you, you can also choose from something more sophisticated, yet still simple to use. The “Freestyle Ring” tool is another 3D modeling tool, which allows you to create completely unique and intricately detailed rings.

Once you’ve created the perfect design, your customized ring will be 3D printed and shipped directly to you.

The company hopes to add additional jewelry options, expanding from “just rings” to bracelets, earrings, and necklaces as well.
