How 3D Printing Will Be Revolutionizing the Toy Industry

If you’re in the market for 3D printable toy files, look no further.

A new company known called ToyFabb has just announced the launch of their online marketplace that offers files for 3D printable toys.

ToyFabb is a Switzerland-based startup, founded by Jochen Hanselmann and Alex Schmid. The online store is designed to make 3D printable toys more accessible, allowing those with access to a 3D printer to select the design of their choice, download the file, and 3D print their new toys. Those who don’t yet have their own 3D printers can just as easily get their toys printed via a 3D printing service like Shapeways.

“ToyFabb is your online marketplace for 3D toy designs that you can produce on your own 3D Printer,” the company website states. “Select, purchase and get your 3D design instantly for 3D Printing at home.”

The company was founded with the goal of providing a platform for designers to share their exceptional creations with the world.

“We think that there is a huge potential out there,” the company website states. “And 3D printing is the ideal technology to free up this potential.”

ToyFabb’s mission is to bring toys to the future of 3D printing and personal manufacturing, by offering a specialized, convenient, and integrated platform that brings designers and customers together.

The company has also announced a new contest along with their company launch. Hobby designers and professional designers alike are welcome to submit their design ideas for 3D printable creations. The winner in each of the categories will win $100. The last day to submit designs is September 30, 2014.
