Makerbot hiring spree shows desktop 3D printer market to be remarkably strong

The next time one of your cynical friends scoffs at the idea that anyone is seriously buying 3D printers, you might want to send him the link to this page with has all the job openings posted at Makerbot, the #1 maker of fully-assembled, low-cost desktop 3D printers. I was flabbergasted when I saw the openings posted on their blog last Friday.  I know Makerbot is doing very well, but the number of people that this relatively small company is looking to hire is just astonishing.

They have over 50 positions to fill in their Brooklyn facilities (and one in the Manhattan Makerbot store).  For a company of this size, that’s a lot of people. They wouldn’t be hiring this many people if the Makerbot products were not flying out of the assembly room.

They are actually having a Job Fair on Friday, April 12th at One Metro Center. The event is open to candidates who submit a resume and cover letter on their special Job Fair page.

Here are all the openings. It’s pretty crazy.
