17-year old creator of 3D printed robotic hand gives a great TED Talk

Prosthetics: one of my favorite topics. They’ve come a long way, from the Captain Hook grasper to five fingers with a rotating wrist. Unfortunately they’re still incredibly expensive, ranging between $500 for a hook and $100,000 for an advanced bionic hand. The advanced models also require invasive spinal surgery that’s dangerous and expensive. You may remember my interview with Easton LaChappelle about his successful 3D printed robotic hand campaign on Kickstarter.
